Discovery Is Going Green with Planet Green
For the Discovery Home Channel fans in the audience, you may want to turn away. On June 4, DHC will cease to exist and will be transformed into Planet Green, Discovery’s “24-hour eco-lifestyle network.” Featuring celebrities such as Emeril Lagasse, Tom Brokaw, and… Tom Green(?), Planet Green will showcase how you can be green as well as how stars and celebrities are turning green.
Planet Green’s original programming combines unique formats and the most up-to-date information on green living with pop culture icons and engaging personalities. For example, rapper/actor Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and rocker Tommy Lee will battle to see who can out-green the other as their entourages hit the tour route.
Oh dear… Ludacris and Tommy Lee, going green? Please, keep all comments to yourself.

Is there anyone out there in TV land who is unhappy with the change to Planet Green, besides me??
I am usually a huge advocate for change, but in this case I’m extremely unhappy and disgusted about it. It just plain sucks!!! Planet Green, my ass. I’m now calling it Planet Guano!!!
Bring back Toolbelt Diva, Take Home Handyman and most importantly, Holmes on Homes - my favorite show. How refreshing to see an honest person with integrity on TV, as well as an honest contractor!!!! I have learned more about home improvement from the Discovery Home programs than almost any other source. My husband and I are rehabing a mid 80’s house, and we are doing 98% of the work ourselves.
I’ve watched most of the Planet Green shows, to see what they are offering, to give it a fair chance. Needless to say, I’m never watching Planet Guano ever again. What a waste. It almost makes me want to quit recycling.

Yes.
The “Planet green” channel is dull and boring. Stars with millions of dollars doing “green” stuff. Yes that really relates to my family. Stuffing this channel onto us by force by removing DHC is a mistake. I tried to watch it, but…..
Bring back DHC. Hell….make it the Mike Holmes channel and do it right.
Now, back to the DIY channel, which now makes the “green” channel look completely worthless.

With the turn on of Planet Green I feel like I was lied to. In all the ads there was never a mention of DHC being turned off or all previous programming cancelled.
Now I don’t mind green programming added like ‘Wasted’. And I thought that’s what it was, more added. But to kill helpful programming like ‘Holmes on Homes’ what were they thinking?
Channel 286 PLGN on my DSS receiver is being removed from the guide so I don’t even have to look at the stupid program titles.

Wow for a minute I thought I was the only person that was upset at DHC changing over to planet green! I agree with ASullivan, I was a DHC junkie! Since buying my first home last year, I have learned more home improvement tips from the original DHC program line up than anywhere else. Especially from my boy Mike Holmes! Not to mention all the recipes I have tried from License to Grill. DHC used to be a well rounded channel for homeowners, homemakers, and whoever enjoyed tackling projects around the house. It didnt matter if you were putting on a roof, or putting on a dinner party, DHC had you covered! It amazes me that someone could convince a panel of people to fix something that was not broken. Smooth move DHC, Planet Green, or whatever you plan on calling yourself by next Friday. I hope I am not alone when I say you have lost a loyal viewer.

I am totally blown away with Planet Green. Discovery Home Channel was a very important educational television program. I am very upset and thoroughly discussed with some of persons who is responsible for changes. Michael Holmes coming right-out saying the way it truly is….
GET WITH THE PROGRAM PEOPLE…
another loyal viewer bit the dust………
